Abstract Adolf Katzenellenbogen, internationally known art historian, was born in Germany in Frankfurt-am-Main on August 19, 1901. He was educated at the universities of Freiburg, Leipzig, Munich, Frankfurt and Giessen in 1924, and he received a doctor of philosophy degree in 1933 at the University of Hamburg. The collection consists of two volumes entitled "Constitution des États-Unis" containing 59 lectures written in French and delivered by Laboulaye at the Collège de France. Most were delivered in 1862-1863.

The majority of the material is Goodnow's correspondence, but there are also lectures, addresses, writings and printed material.
